Here is a complete blip.tv video of the 10/20/10 public forum on ballot questions 1-4. Questions 1-3 are statewide (see details). Question 4 is local. It asks Northampton voters if they approve of a $10 million debt exclusion property tax override to help build a new $17.6 million police station and parking garage. Most of the forum was devoted to presentations by advocates for the new police station, including Mayor Clare Higgins, Police Chief Russell Sienkiewicz, and Robert Ostberg, a Co-Chair of the Police Station Building Committee. Several City Councilors were in attendance.
The forum was sponsored by Yes! Northampton, which is campaigning for a No vote on Questions 1-3 and a Yes vote on Question 4. This video is 1 hour 17 minutes long and was recorded by Adam Cohen.
These slides from Mayor Higgins describe the financial impact of the police station tax override on taxpayers:
Here are pictures of presentation boards displayed at the forum. They show a preliminary design and the final approved proposal for the new police station. Chief Sienkiewicz discusses these boards on the video.
