Here is a blip.tv video of the June 9 meeting of Northampton’s Board of Public Works. This video is 1 hour 49 minutes long and was recorded by Mimi Odgers of Water Not Waste.
In this YouTube excerpt from the middle of the meeting, members of the board show little enthusiasm for saving Chesterfield Road Dam. Citizens in The Friends of the Upper Roberts Meadow Reservoir and Chesterfield Road Dam have been trying to save the dam and associated reservoir for a year. They believe funds generated from hydropower can offset the costs of maintaining the dam going forward.
Board chair Terry Culhane: “I think the sense of the board is fairly clear… but we still need to come up with some way to shut the process down. I hate to do that when they [The Friends] are not here.”
