June 3: Closing Reception for The Dam Art Show

We’d like to share this announcement:

Don’t miss the
Closing Reception for The Dam Art Show

14 Strong Avenue in Northampton, Trailside Gallery, located below Pedal to Properties
(right of Kathy’s Diner, across from EastSide Grill)

JUNE 3rd, 5:30-8:00 PM

The historic Upper Roberts Meadow Dam is under threat of removal. Come view art and artifacts from Northampton’s historic Upper Roberts Meadow. Learn how this dam is important to wildlife and how it could jumpstart the Sustainable Northampton plan to place micro-hydro power on Northampton’s waterways. Bring family, friends, and string, ribbon or thin rope to show your solidarity.

Come and see what area artists think about the Historic Upper Roberts Meadow Dam and Reservoir. Join area residents in saving this 130-year-old dam, the reservoir which is home to wildlife, including important species like Wood turtle.

What happened to the neighborhood that existed in 1883 but was subsequently removed to enable clean water? Why does the City want to remove such a beautiful structure? What can you do to stop this? COME and learn! Sign a petition. Sign up for a lawn sign. Invite your friends.

For more information on the Exhibition, call Jessica at 413-478-3137.
