Benjamin Spencer of nomp-haho invites you to this event:
MEMORIAL
Sunday, September 13th from 6-8PM
Village Hill Northampton – Route 66 Sidewalk
nomp-haho invites you to participate in a memorial event
Come see the sunlight shine on the Holyoke Range as the sunset glows to the west.
Take one last look at the magnificent view of the entire Holyoke Range.
We are all about to lose something special – public access to a spectacular view.
Bring your family and friends to say goodbye to the Holyoke Range.
This will be our last chance before Kollmorgen begins construction and blocks the view.
Once planned to be an open village – now an industrial facility with a 450 car parking lot.
We need to show that we are paying attention to Northampton’s future.
This is our last chance to speak out on this matter.
The more people on the hill the better.
Please Attend This Memorial

Although the board OK’d the site plans in a 5-1 vote, with Kenneth Jodrie the lone dissenter, disapproval of the redesigned bike path was a consistent theme among speakers. Rust Avenue resident Benjamin Spencer, who spoke a number of times at the meeting, said he thought changes to the bike path made it unsafe for children and that the company’s claim that a bike path would cause a security problem was insincere.

2:10:11… Jodrie: “We have an awful working relationship with this developer [MassDevelopment]… They’re going about this in a way that’s not working with us at all… I’m extremely disappointed in this process… It’s MassDevelopment who’s not listening to us [as opposed to the Citizens Advisory Committee]. They don’t hear what we tell them about what our interpretation of this village is…”
2:22:10… Jodrie: “…the developer is not complying with our vision of what a village ought to be… We need to tell the developer directly that they’re not going to get these approvals when they arrive here regardless of what the CAC says.”
