General Public Forum
For residents of Northampton and the Valley
(Sponsored by the Pioneer Valley Guildhouse and
City Councilor Michael Bardsley)
Tuesday, April 29, 6pm-9pm
Jackson Street School, Cafeteria (120 Jackson Street)
The General Public forum is intended to be a community-building event to encourage communication and participation in the community and to promote awareness of the various ongoing activities of Northampton residents, local organizations, non-profits, the city of Northampton and other groups and individuals in the area.
We encourage people to bring topics for discussion at the event but the focus of the evening will be on
- What connects people to this community (Northampton)
- Cooperation versus competition
- The idea of a community center or commonspace

. The event is free and open to the public. There will be food, snacks and beverages. There will also be a designated children’s area with an adult supervisor at the event.
Agenda for the event (some of the times in-between may vary based on the mood of the evening, but the beginning and end times will remain the same)
6:00pm – People are invited to come in, help themselves to food, sit down, talk amongst each other, and inquire with the various organizations present
6:45pm – The moderator will call attention for the beginning of the event and explain the plan for the evening and express hopes for the event
7:00pm – Group discussions, any ideas and issues can be discussed during this time
8:00pm – The last part of the event will be open for anyone in the audience to address the audience as a whole for 2 to 3 minutes
9:00pm – Moderator will call the end of the General public forum.
